Athena has deep experience in managing risk in new & underexplored plays and is focused on high impact exploration in the basins of the Atlantic seaboard.
Underexplored plays cover a large spectrum of risk & often such plays can be found in proven as well as frontier and emerging basins. Understanding & differentiating between plays with a risk of >1 in 10 & those with a risk of c.1 in 5 is key in portfolio management for an explorer working in new plays.
At Athena, our strategy is focused on:

- Maturing a portfolio of drillable prospects >50mmboe recoverable
- Farming out assets to fund drilling
